Sensile Medical AG enters into a cooperation agreement with AWECO Appliance Systems

A breakthrough: Sensile medical micropumps for industrial applications
Hägendorf (Switzerland), 08th June 2010 – Sensile Medical AG has completed its expansion from an innovator in the medical field into the industrial field. An agreement has been concluded with the German company Aweco Appliance Systems to incorporate Sensile micropump technologies in the domestic appliance sector.

Sensile Medical AG, a Swiss company specialising in research and development of medical technologies, is making the breakthrough into the cost-sensitive industrial sector. A recently concluded agreement with the German company AWECO Appliance Systems is launching the innovative Swiss micropump technology in the up-market systems produced by the German system supplier for branded household appliances in Europe, America and Asia. By pooling their know-how, the two companies are expecting to make considerable technical and economic progress. “We were impressed by Sensile’s innovative yet remarkably uncomplicated micropump technology. The pumps will soon find their way to the market in our customers’ appliances” states Harald Schrott, CEO of Aweco, confirming the agreement.
Spreading out into industrial applications
For Sensile Medical AG, this represents a defining milestone in its relatively young company history. Erwin Conradi, Chairman of Sensile Medical’s Board of Directors adds: “The investments made in the development of micropump technologies in the diabetes area will soon bear fruit not only in other applications in the medical treatment area: they are now also becoming established in a wide range of other industries.”
